Wolf Larsen Reviews

One of a number of screen adaptations of Jack London's famed novel The Sea Wolf, the best known being the 1920 silent featuring Noah Beery, Sr., and the 1941 version with Edward G. Robinson. Sullivan is the crazed, cruel captain who totally tyrannizes over his ship; Graves is the young, well-to-do shipwreck victim who, rescued by Sullivan, serves as one of his crew. Sullivan carries on a litany of abuses against the men under his command; Graves finally rebels against his cruelties and kills him. Well acted and well paced, this also has a fine musical score.
