Wives Never Know Reviews

Menjou is a writer who pens polemics against the institution of marriage, citing the benefits of single bliss. He persuades his friend Ruggles that the only meaningful relationships are those that include interludes of strife, suggesting that his friend find a way to make wife Boland jealous. Ruggles spends a night with aging actress Osborne--a French floozy with whom Menjou himself is taken--expecting to reap the joys of anguished forgiveness upon his return home to Boland. Instead, he finds raging rancor, not only on Boland's part, but from the jealous Menjou as well. The last is brought to the altar with Osborne, ending the arguing in this pleasant, predictable bedroom farce.
