Vendetta Reviews

Fighting off a rape attempt, young Bonnie (Michelle Newkirk) kills her assailant and ends up in jail for two years on a manslaughter charge. She quickly runs afoul of butch lesbian drug-dealer Kay Butler (Sany Martin) and her gang and is tossed off a railing to her death. Her sister, Laurie Collins (Karen Chase), a professional movie stuntwoman, tries to have the authorities look into the case, but they simply write it off as suicide. So Laurie manages to get herself sent to the same prison where she soon learns who was responsible for the death of her sister. The performances are way above average for this kind of thing, with Martin stealing every scene she's in, not to mention getting all the best lines. As is usual for these films, any similarity between this prison and the real thing is strictly coincidental. Of course, all the obligatory scenes are there: long showers, rapist guards, brutal beatings, and more showers. Let's face it, these films are as seedy as they come, but for fans of exploitation, this film should do nicely.
