Three Bad Sisters Reviews

This turgid potboiler features the three worst sisters since Macbeth stumbled on the witches in the woods. When their father is killed in a plane crash, Hughes immediately starts in on English and Shane so that she can inherit the estate for herself. First she disfigures English, who ends up killing herself after seeing her new looks. Then Hughes engages Bromfield, the pilot of the plane her father died in, to help destroy sister number two. In return for a cut of the estate, Bromfield agrees to help drive Shane mad but ends up falling for her instead. The two marry and Hughes makes certain that she'll get some sadistic revenge. Hughes tells Shane that her husband is carrying on a torrid affair with her. Shane is about to leap off a cliff when Hughes and Bromfield are killed fighting over the control of a moving car. Though the plot holds plenty of juice, the presentation is dull, with an ambling direction that shows no feel for the material at all. This is the sort of film that demands hot treatment, and the trio of actresses try their best. However, the direction, coupled with a less than steamy script, never gives them a chance.
