The enduring 1965 Best Picture Oscar winner is set in 1938 Austria and tells the tale of a young nun named Maria, who leaves the convent to become a governess to the Von Trapp family. Upon arriving at the home, Maria discovers that her new boss, the "Captain," is cold and aloof, and his seven children are virtual automatons when he is around, and holy terrors when he is absent. Maria eventually ingratiates herself with the children and begins to fall for the Captain despite his upcoming wedding.
