The Purple Vigilantes Reviews

A group of purple-hooded vigilantes clean up a town, then decide to clean up for themselves. Using their disguises, they anonymously start fleecing the citizens for everything they can. Leave it to the Three Mesquiteers (Livingston, Corrigan and Terhune) to ride in and save the day. This was the second of the Three Mesquiteers series to be directed by Sherman, who would become the series' long-standing helmsman. It's also one of the better films in the series. Rather than the lowbrow comedy found in the Mesquiteers films, this employs wit and style. The pace is streamlined and keeps a nice balance between plot movement and action sequences. Barclay is Livingston's romantic interest, but this barely exists, giving way to the more important action. Entertaining and enjoyable.
