The Pit Reviews

Reviewed By: Jeremy Wheeler

The Pit is one of those true gems hidden at the bottom of the rental shelf that you just can't stop watching. First off, we have Sammy Snyders as the lead character Jamie Benjamin... That big huge nose, the voice that makes the hairs on the back of your neck do the salsa, and man, how about those cold-blooded eyes?!? Yes, the spirit of obnoxious child actors hit The Pit big time with this little dude and we're all the more better because of it. In what could only be described as a gift from God, Snyder's performance is simply amazing. No matter whether you hate the annoying brat or not, he reels you in for the full ride. You just have to see who this little jerk is gonna kill next. The librarian? The babysitter? Or who can forget, the wheelchair-bound cranky old hag who rides down the street callin' kids HIPPIES? Yes, that's right, they're all just food for THE PIT! And how about that pit? Well, it's about 12 feet deep, the size of a Buick, and full of dudes dressed in big horrible porcupine outfits. Seeing them alone is worth the price of admission, but with Sammy Snyders around, they're just icing on the cake in this one. Add in a talking Teddy Bear that is never fully explained and a twist at the end that comes out of nowhere, The Pit is about 10 minutes too long, but oh, is it worth it! For a totally stupid and great time, grab a couple of friends and dive into this one, you won't regret it.
