The Howling Reborn Reviews

Reviewed By: Jeremy Wheeler

Howling Reborn is a rotten mix of Twilight, Fright Night, and Harry Potter, although to its credit, the picture does sport a super silly werewolf fight at the end complete with dummy dude grunts (yes, that's literally the best that can be said about it). Curious to note: Gary Brandner's Howling II novel is credited as being the story the film is based on, which is a thoroughly bogus claim since that book is a direct sequel to the first film/novel and absolutely zero to do with this cash grab at the sad teen creature market. It seems fitting that the franchise continues in this kind of dull fashion considering that the series went straight downhill after the campy (and rather entertaining) Ozploitation outing, Howling III: The Marsupials. If by any chance you do sit through it, the end credits provide a setup for large-scale sequel that is far more delectable than anything that was presented in the rest of this embarrassing dreck.
