The Girl He Left Behind Reviews

This occasionally cumbersome comedy has Hunter a wealthy, spoiled draftee in the peacetime Army, longing only to get out and away, back to his sweetheart Wood. During basic training, his purposeful ineptitude--which leads to most of the few laughs, usually at the expense of his training sergeant, Hamilton--results in the Army offering him a discharge from the service, albeit a dishonorable one. Desperate to depart the confines of the encampment, he accepts the proffered paper, but before his exit occurs he finds himself in the midst of a war-games exercise. In the confusion of the games, he saves the lives of four of his fellow soldiers. Redeemed by this adventure, he elects to serve out his time, the manhood ritual having had its inexorable effect. The English do this sort of thing much better. Takeoff of SEE HERE PRIVATE HARGROVE.
