The starring role here was initially slotted for Will Rogers, who died in a plane crash before production started. The producers then tried to force Stone into a Rogers mold, but he doesn't fit and the movie doesn't work. An Iowa farm family lives peacefully until Ma decides they're moving to Hollywood so the daughter can become a star. Pa is the one who becomes a film actor, while Ma plays the pushy stage mother and almost ruins her daughter's love life. Father quickly whisks his family back to a normal life on the farm. A few laughs, but all too predictable.
