Sophie Lang Goes West Reviews

The last of three "Sophie Lang" films, at this point the filmmakers seemed to be confused about just what to do with the character. The results are disastrous, to say the least, with neither the director nor the actors quite sure what to make of the script. As the woman who can't stay on the good side of the cops, no matter how hard she tries, Michael is once again attempting to avoid the long arm of the law. Somehow she bumps into a scriptwriter (where was he when really needed?) and helps him to come up with material to finish the screenplay he's been working on. In the process the two solve the theft of a priceless necklace. The film had been preceded by THE NOTORIOUS SOPHIE LANG (1934) and THE RETURN OF SOPHIE LANG (1936).
