Smart Politics Reviews

Thinly plotted story in which Stewart and Preisser lead a group of teenagers in transforming an old warehouse into a youth center. Their biggest problem is the mayor, who has his own ideas for the space the kids wish to convert. Winning the mayor over allows for a number of laughs and some pretty nifty musical numbers, including appearances by Gene Krupa's Orchestra. Musical numbers include: "Young Man with a Beat" (performed by the Gene Krupa Orchestra), "Sincerely Yours" (sung by Stewart), "Isn't This a Night for Love?" (sung by Stewart), "Household Blues" (sung by Davis), and "Young Man" (sung by Davis, Stewart). A light and unpretentious film whose only aim (outside of the box office) is to be fun.
