An uneven story starts with Gorcey and gang attempting to buy uniforms for their baseball team and winds up with Gorcey praying for the life of his friend Jordan. In between, Jordan gets a hefty reward for helping in the capture of gangster Rosenbloom, who repays the boy with a vicious beating when he escapes from jail. Dell, in a familiar role, plays the neighborhood kid who takes up with gangsters, only to return to his pals after seeing the light. The usual wisecracks are mouthed off, mainly by Hall and Gorcey, one of the few things that makes many of the "Bowery Boys" entries bearable.
