Singin' in the Corn Reviews

Canova plays a carnival mind reader who inherits her late uncle's estate under the condition that a ghost town be returned to the rightful owners, the Indians. Fortunately for Canova, her uncle's ghost makes an appearance and advises her what to do. The film lacks the credibility and story line necessary to make it work. Instead, it's padded with stock footage and musical numbers sung by The Singing Indian Braves. Canova was a popular radio singer of the time, but this film did nothing for her career. Watch for Silverheels, TV's "Tonto" of later years. Songs include: "I'm a Gal of Property," "Pepita Chequita," "An Old Love Is a True Love" (Doris Fisher, Allan Roberts), and "Ma, He's Making Eyes at Me" (Sidney Clare, Con Conrad).
