Light entertainment is mainly an excuse to show off a number of musical talents, particularly those of Jack Hylton, a wildly popular British band leader of the time, who has been hired by a wealthy businessman to broadcast from aboard his cruiser. A business rival wrecks the scheme, but the entertainment remains intact.
