Samurai from Nowhere Reviews

During the 17th century, Iwashita is being held captive by an evil Japanese lord. Nagato, an unemployed samurai, rescues the woman, saving her from a life as a concubine. They are pursued by the kidnaper's underlings but manage to get some menial work in order to earn money to pay off debts and bribe border guards. Nagato decides to supplement the income by challenging a local fencing ace to a duel, without revealing his samurai background. He defeats the man and blackmails him for more money, breaking the honored samurai code of never using skills for monetary gain. The local governor hears of Nagato's abilities and offers him a post as master of martial arts. When the governor learns that Nagato earned money through his fencing, however, the offer is withdrawn. The couple continues the journey, but the two are finally caught by the evil lord's henchmen. Thanks to the aid of Tamba, a fellow unemployed samurai, as well as to the man Nagato defeated in the tournament, Iwshita and Nagato are able to move on once more. .
