A tough soldier appoints himself guardian of an orphan boy. He boards the boy at his marine base, where the kid soon becomes an unofficial mascot. The orphan also returns the favor by trying to expedite a romance between the soldier and his sweetheart.

Bickford is heroic and kind-hearted as a Marine who looks after orphan Burrud when the youngster shows up on base. The boy is later adopted by newlywed Rice, and Bickford dutifully goes off to sea. Full of that fight-for-your-country spirit, with an excess of Marine base stock footage making it all look very appealing.
