A faintly amusing comedy that did not amuse the Mexican authorities; they objected to Romero's portrayal of a quickie divorce lawyer south of the border. Sinatra and Kerr have been married nearly 20 years, and he runs a successful advertising agency. He thinks they are happily married, but Kerr does not and is in the process of divorcing him as she meets with family attorney McGiver. Sinatra's best pal is Martin, a booze-swilling, woman-chasing bachelor. He had also been in love with Kerr before Sinatra popped the question, and he has never found another woman. Kerr's complaint is that she married an exciting swinger who has turned into a bore. McGiver wants to keep them together, so he suggests she doff her flannel nightwear, buy a sexy negligee, and take Sinatra off for a second honeymoon. Kerr and Sinatra leave for a holiday in Mexico and are mistakenly divorced by lawyer Romero, a man who runs faster than the ambulances he chases. Undaunted, Kerr and Sinatra decide to have a gala remarriage, but Sinatra has to fly back to the States unexpectedly for business. Not wishing to leave Kerr stranded alone, Sinatra asks Martin to go to Mexico, keep her company, and explain why he is delayed. Martin arrives in Mexico, and Romero mistakenly marries him and Kerr. Rather than get a quickie divorce from Martin, Kerr thinks she can use this marriage to make Sinatra jealous and get him back. But Sinatra, upon discovering he's single, will not fall for it and begins to relive his onetime swinging life in Martin's pad at Malibu. Despite one hot date after another, though, Sinatra is unhappy. Kerr now learns that she is pregnant because of that short but passionate trip to Mexico. On Thanksgiving, Sinatra and Kerr reconcile and plan to have a large church wedding once she can shed Martin in a real court of law. Nancy Sinatra plays Frank's daughter, a role she was born to do. Trini Lopez sings "There Was a Sinner Man," which took five writers to compose. Tony Bill, now a producer-director, plays Nancy's boy friend, three years after having played Sinatra's younger brother in COME BLOW YOUR HORN.
