Lumberjack Reviews

Number 52 in the "Hopalong Cassidy" series finds Boyd helping widow Hall. Her husband has been murdered under mysterious circumstances and now two land agents want her to sign away her property. She does so, despite the warnings of Boyd. Because of some lazy lumberjacks, it looks like she won't be able to deliver the virgin timber on time to the smarmy gents, but thanks to Boyd's derring-do (as well as some local homesteaders), she is able to keep her end of the bargain. Boyd solves the murder to boot. A standard programmer with some nice riding tricks by Boyd, as well as Clyde's usual comic support. Filmed in the High Sierras, this picture has a nice look to it that was different from most of the other films in this series.
