L'Immorale Reviews

Tognazzi is a concert violinist who maintains a family and two mistresses, phoning them all constantly to assure them of their place in his heart. While waiting for the birth of a baby by his newest mistress (Sandrelli), he goes to a church and confesses his arrangement. The priest recommends a divorce, but Tognazzi is unwilling to do that because all his women need him. Finally, it all proves too much for him, and he suffers a fatal heart attack while trying to phone his wife. From heaven, he watches his funeral and wonders if his wife knew his secret. Fairly good comedy from director Germi who made at least two fine comedies, DIVORCE, ITALIAN STYLE and SEDUCED AND ABANDONED.
