Four Italian directors each bring their own talents in separate stories. In "The Women", a man contends with former and prospective mistresses as both women flirt with him. In "The Miser", Tullio (Vittorio Gassmann) falls for the wife of a tight-fisted gambler. "Adventure Of A Soldier" is an amusing pantomime involving a man's attempt to court a comely widow on a train full of hecklers. In "The Snake", a young German couple's romantic idyll is interrupted by two truck drivers. This quadrophenic comedy effort often compares how old fashioned love can suffer in the wake of modern times and inventions.
