Invitation to the Waltz Reviews

An unsuccessful attempt at mixing music, romance, and history has Harvey playing an English ballerina at Drury Lane. Set in the early 1800s, Harvey becomes the mistress of Warrender, Duke of Wurtemberg, and tricks him into signing a treaty with England against Napoleon. Carl Esmond is the young officer who loves her. Typically continental in direction, this film succeeds in keeping with the period story.
