Small-time Belfast thief Gerry Conlon is falsely implicated in the IRA bombing of a London pub that killed several people. Under duress, he and four friends are coerced into admitting their guilt. Making matters worse, Gerry's father and other relatives in London are also implicated. With the help of a British lawyer, Gerry and his father embark on a 15-year fight to have their names cleared.
