Hotel Sahara Reviews

Competent WW II comedy starring Ustinov as the proprietor of a dusty hotel located in the midst of the war-torn Sahara, and De Carlo as his loyal fiancee who tries to keep the military guests happy. Most of the laughs come from the frantic efforts of the staff to switch the appearance of their loyalties in the war, depending on which occupying force has control of the area. The switches go from Italian to British to German to French, and then back to British and German simultaneously, when both sides invade together. De Carlo is fine as she tries to vamp the soldiers from every nation, and Ustinov is good as the harried hotel owner.
