Heart of the Golden West Reviews

The old West gets a shot in the arm from the modern age of transportation when a trucking company and a steamboat vie for the opportunity to haul cattle. With Gene Autry entering the Army, Roy Rogers was given the top singing cowboy spot at Republic. Here he's blessed with a pair of sidekicks, Hayes and Burnette, the latter Autry's former pal. Together with the ever-dependable Trigger, the trio foils the trucker's sneaky attempt to get the cattle contract. The Hall Johnson Choir delivers "Carry Me Back To Old Virginny."
