Woody Allen-esque and Neil Simon-ish set-ups and one-liners abound in a likable romp about a TV-comedy writer (David Paymer) who's also a frustrated playwright. A solid ensemble cast features Peter Falk and Bea Arthur, plus Marilu Henner, Kathy Griffin and Judge Reinhold. John Travolta's brother Joey directed, and veteran sitcom writer Glen Merzer wrote the script and has a small role.
