Deerslayer Reviews

An unbelievably inept adaptation of James Fenimore Cooper's classic tale that turns the white boy raised by Mohicans into an Indian-fighting super-hero who gets himself into and out of more jams then the average serial hero did in a month. Kellogg, who is seemingly captured every five minutes, makes innumerable escapes and saves helpless whites from savage redskins to the point of boredom. Truly lame, low-budget stuff from director Landers, who had done much better work in oaters. Remade in 1957.
