Daughter of the Tong Reviews

Technically inept (bad photography seemed the norm at Metropolitan at the time) crime melodrama, starring Withers as an FBI agent sent out to bust femme fatale Brent's ring of smugglers. Saddled with long, dull fights and a silly opening narration explaining the activities of the FBI, the film seems more like a commercial for FBI director J. Edgar Hoover than a crime drama. The acting is far superior to the merits of the story, and even the bad photography may not be the cameraman's fault, but due to the quality of stock used.
