Damaged Lives Reviews

Another film dealing with 1937's hot topic, venereal disease. It tells the story of a young married couple and of a mistake of the husband's that nearly ruins their lives. The film went through a tough struggle with censors when it opened, but by today's standards it is naive in its handling of the subject. At the end of the narrative, the actor playing the doctor gives a 29-minute lecture on venereal disease. This film was released one week before the opening of another film on the subject, DAMAGED GOODS.
