Starret stars as a kindly rancher who is willing to alter the deed to his property to accommodate a group of sheepmen. When the local cattle baron hears of this, he swipes Starrett's deed from a timid bank clerk, whom he quickly kills in order to frame Starrett. When Starrett is given a chance to prove his innocence at a barroom trial, he collects enough evidence to prove the treachery and murderous tendencies of the cattle baron. A familiar plot, but one that helped Starrett, as a newcomer to westerns, slowly build a following in the genre that lasted through the early 1950s.
