Cat and Mouse Reviews

A thoroughly baffling murder mystery that will fool even the most ardent mystery viewer. Inspector Reggiani is investigating the murder (or is it suicide?) of Aumont, an extremely wealthy businessman who dabbles in the production of soft-core sex films. He is found with a bullet hole in his head, his collection of priceless paintings stolen from the walls. His wife, Morgan, stands to inherit everything, so naturally she is the chief suspect. However, she has a nearly airtight alibi. Aumont's porn-star lover is also suspected. Then there are his two underpaid servants. Together with his enthusiastic assistant (Leotard), Reggiani tries his best to put the pieces together. Especially interesting is a lengthy sequence in which Reggiani races against the clock through the streets of Paris to test a suspect's alibi, all shot from the point of view of the front bumper--first by car, then by motorcycle. Dubbed in English.
