Bed and Board Reviews

Part of the continuing saga of that fun-loving Frenchman, Antoine Doinel, played hungrily by Leaud. He falls in love with and marries Jade, fathers a child, then experiments with adultery by having an uninteresting affair with Berghauer before the close-out. Director Truffaut's dwelling upon scenes thought to be tender is really a matter of self-indulgence. There simply isn't enough story, and most of the characters remain inert.
