Survivor Season 30, Carolyn Rivera
2 of 19 Monty Brinton/CBS

Carolyn Rivera

Age: 52
Tribe: White Collar (Masaya)
Current Residence: Tampa, Fla.
Occupation: Corporate Executive
Jeff's Take: "From a physical standpoint, Carolyn is maybe the oldest person out there. I know she's the oldest woman. But she's very fit. She works in an office. She has people that work under her. She's used to making rules and being in charge. And she has that East Coast sensibility, which is: 'You get it done, no matter what, period.' I think that is Carolyn's strength and her weakness is that she doesn't take lip from anybody. If you cross her, there will be a consequence."

3 of 19 Monty Brinton/CBS

Tyler Fredrickson

Age: 33
Tribe: White Collar (Masaya)
Current Residence: Los Angeles, Calif.
Occupation: Ex-Talent Agent Assistant
Jeff's Take: "Tyler is one of my favorites. He's really been inside that corporate, cutthroat world, and as a result, Tyler has a little bit of a laid-back attitude for a White Collar, because he's been in hell and survived. He added a little bit of what the White Collars needed, which was, yes, let's work together. Let's have some team goals and some unity – but we can do it without arguing. And he was probably the only guy on the White Collar tribe who was their real voice of compassion."

4 of 19 Monty Brinton/CBS

So Kim

Age: 31
Tribe: White Collar (Masaya)
Current Residence: Long Beach, Calif.
Occupation: Retail Buyer
Jeff's Take: "So is aggressive out of the gate. She makes quick moves. She's proud of the fact that she's made everybody who works for her cry at one point or another, and that is the attitude she's going to play the game with. If you're with me, you're with me, and if you're not, you're dead to me."

5 of 19 Monty Brinton/CBS

Max Dawson

Age: 37
Tribe: White Collar (Masaya)
Current Residence: Topanga, Calif.
Occupation: Media Consultant
Jeff's Take: "Max is an interesting guy to have on Survivor, because he's a former professor who taught a course on Survivor. So, he really knows the game thoroughly, and he's studied it in a way that not a lot of players have. He gave the White Collars a bit of an advantage in that he really did understand what was likely to happen, and the pitfalls to avoid. For instance, early on, Max says, 'I don't want to be a leader. I'll do anything to not be a leader. Because leaders don't do well.' And there's a moment early in the show where they have to pick a leader, and Max deftly avoids being the one chosen, because of his knowledge of the game."

Shirin Oskooi

Age: 31
Tribe: White Collar (Masaya)
Current Residence: San Francisco, Calif.
Occupation: Yahoo Executive
Jeff's Take: "Shirin is a capital letter Super-fan. She might know the game better than anybody that's ever played. And she didn't hesitate to share her information. Shirin did not approach this as, 'I'm going to use this to benefit me.' Shirin approached it as, 'Listen, as a tribe, I can help us get deeper – and if we get deeper, then I get deeper. So here's what I know about the game.' As a result, Shirin ends up impacting the game because of how much she understands it. Shirin is also a loose cannon. She is used to having her voice listened to, and if you don't listen, it doesn't go well."

7 of 19 Monty Brinton/CBS

Joaquin Souberbielle

Age: 27
Tribe: White Collar (Masaya)
Current Residence: Valley Stream, N.Y.
Occupation: Marketing Director
Jeff's Take: "Joaquin is a little bit of an outlier on the White Collar tribe, in that he's probably the most prone to being up for a party, the most prone to making a rash decision. And in his white collar job, it suits him. He says early on, 'My job does not define me. I am a White Collar, but there are more colors to me.' And that makes him a tricky player on that White Collar tribe, because he may be down with the cause for the tribe, or he may be an outlier looking to make a move early."

8 of 19 Monty Brinton/CBS

Kelly Remington

Age: 44
Tribe: Blue Collar (Escameca)
Current Residence: Grand Island, N.Y.
Occupation: State Trooper
Jeff's Take: "Kelly has a very low-key approach to life. Because of her job as a state trooper, she's been in a lot of high-pressure situations, and as a result, she doesn't panic. She doesn't get excited. She's able to take a big moment that might throw other people and just sit on it. It's a really nice quality. And in a lot of ways, she's an outlier on the Blue Collar tribe, because she's a hard-working but very quiet woman who's going to study you and watch you, and not remind you that she does this for a living. For a living, she watches people's behavior. That's what she does. But she never reminds people of that out there, and as a result, I don't think people will pick up on what Kelly is picking up on while she's playing the game."

9 of 19 Monty Brinton/CBS

Mike Holloway

Age: 38
Tribe: Blue Collar (Escameca)
Current Residence: North Richland Hills, Texas
Occupation: Oil Driller
Jeff's Take: "Mike personifies the Blue Collar tribe in that he works in an oil field, he's from Texas, he's got a big energy and a big voice and a big spirit, and he only knows one speed, and that's 10. Straight out of the gate, he finds a scorpion and can't wait to eat it. Mike is somebody that the audience is going to either root for all the way, or they're going to think he's too much and they're going to root against him. But you will have an opinion."

10 of 19 Monty Brinton/CBS

Sierra Dawn Thomas

Age: 27
Tribe: Blue Collar (Escameca)
Current Residence: Roy, Utah
Occupation: Barrel Racer
Jeff's Take: "We've not had a lot of people like Sierra on our show. She is a true Blue Collar in that she's a barrel racer who drives her own truck, takes care of her own horse, saddles it up, puts it away, cleans it. Everything that you have to do in that lifestyle, she does on her own. She's living in what is typically a man's world, but she is carrying her own weight, and she's very proud of that fact. She doesn't know quit. There is no part of Sierra that would ever quit this game or ever give up on her tribe."

11 of 19 Monty Brinton/CBS

Dan Foley

Age: 47
Tribe: Blue Collar (Escameca)
Current Residence: Gorham, Maine
Occupation: Postal Worker
Jeff's Take: "Dan will be one of the most controversial and compelling people of the season. You will not forget Dan, and you will know him by the end of the first episode. He is proud of the fact that blue collars built this country. And he will tell you that over and over. And Dan is also a super-fan. He's applied to be on the show many times, and he never gave up, and now he's on and he wants to make the most of it."

12 of 19 Monty Brinton/CBS

Lindsey Cascaddan

Age: 24
Tribe: Blue Collar (Escameca)
Current Residence: College Park, Fla.
Occupation: Hairdresser
Jeff's Take: "Lindsey is a really interesting young woman. She has tatted most of her body, including her face. She's a single mom. She runs a hair salon. She is as blue collar as it gets in this sense: She is self-made, and she is working hard every single day to keep her family going and to keep her own individual dream alive, while continuing to have her own unique approach to life, which includes tattooing her face. Lindsey is a firecracker. If you light her, she will go off. I think audiences are going to either be on Lindsey's side or against Lindsey. It's always good when you have somebody that's going to be polarizing."

13 of 19 Monty Brinton/CBS

Rodney Lavoie

Age: 24
Tribe: Blue Collar (Escameca)
Current Residence: Boston, Mass.
Occupation: General Contractor
Jeff's Take: "Rodney is a hustler. He is jacked. He lives off rules of the street. He is loyal, maybe to a fault. He lost his sister and he has her memory tattooed on his body. Rodney's a guy that if he is with you, he's with you 'til death, and if he is not with you, he will do everything he can to get you out."

14 of 19 Monty Brinton/CBS

Jenn Brown

Age:22
Tribe: No Collar (Nargarote)
Current Residence: Long Beach, Calif.
Occupation: Sailing Instructor
Jeff's Take: "Jenn is a sailboat instructor who really does go from job to job, depending on where her mood is. Even in her young life, I think she's had six or seven careers with no sign of stopping. Jenn really is a great example of what a No Collar is, which is: I do what I want, when I want, with who I want, and that's the end of it."

15 of 19 Monty Brinton/CBS

Vince Sly

Age: 32
Tribe: No Collar (Nargarote)
Current Residence: Santa Monica, Calif.
Occupation: Coconut Vendor
Jeff's Take: "Vince is a really colorful guy who wears feathers in his hair. He sells coconuts down at the beach. He's a student of love. He loves humans. He loves to connect. His job is to figure out how to stay true to himself and connect with people without driving people crazy. One of the risks of being a rule-breaking No Collar is, you forget that other people do have rules and they have their own world. That's what's going to either make Vince really charming or really annoying."

16 of 19 Monty Brinton/CBS

Hali Ford

Age: 25
Tribe: No Collar (Nargarote)
Current Residence: San Francisco
Occupation: Law Student
Jeff's Take: "She's pursuing what is typically a white-collar profession. She wants to be a criminal defense lawyer. But she wants to pursue that career so she can change the current model, and help those who are underserved. That is a woman who's going to go into an established system and try to blow it up so she can create a new system to help those who need it. I love that, and I love that we're getting a chance to explore those kinds of stories this season."

17 of 19 Monty Brinton/CBS

Will Simms II

Age: 41
Tribe: No Collar (Nargarote)
Current Residence: Sherman Oaks, Calif.
Occupation: YouTube Sensation
Jeff's Take: "Will was pumping gas one day when a hidden camera bit from The Tonight Show convinced him to karaoke while pumping his gas. And he became this overnight viral video sensation. When you meet Will, you realize what it is. He's a bartender, and he has this spirit that allows him to befriend anybody at any time. He really doesn’t have the same stakes in life that a lot of people do. He's focused on enjoying today, and not worrying as much about tomorrow, and that makes Will a very accessible guy."

18 of 19 Monty Brinton/CBS

Nina Poersch

Age: 51
Tribe: No Collar (Nargarote)
Current Residence: Palmdale, Calif.
Occupation: Hearing Advocate
Jeff's Take: "The first 40 years of her life, Nina was white collar. She worked in an organization, she worked for the money, she was in charge of people and things. And then Nina lost her hearing as an adult, and that sparked a change in her, which is, I want to relax a little more and I want to take life not quite so seriously. So, Nina is new to the No-Collar way of life, and that's an interesting situation. Will she be able to bond with the other No Collars, or will she be a fish out of water on a tribe that she's just not yet ready for?"

19 of 19 Monty Brinton/CBS

Joe Anglim

Age: 25
Tribe: No Collar (Nargarote)
Current Residence: Scottsdale, Ariz.
Occupation: Jewelry Designer
Jeff's Take: "Joe is an instantly likable guy. He's a good-looking guy that women are going to swoon over and young kids are going to want to be like, and he has a really great way about him. He's very self-aware. That makes him a threat in this game, because he's constantly checking in with everybody to make sure that everybody's feeling okay about their place in the tribe. It's an unsung quality on our show, but you have to be self-aware, and if you're not self-aware, then you don't know what's happening around you. Joe's greatest strength is that he has tremendous amounts of empathy and he's able to get inside you and say, 'I understand what you're feeling, and let's talk about it.' That could take him a long way."
