• First appeared on screen as a child artist in 1984, starring in several of his father's films, the first one being Uravai Kaatha Kili (1984)
• Received the Kalaimamani from the Tamil Nadu government in 2006, an award with honours excellence in the field of art and literature
• Made his directorial debut in Vallavan (2006), for which he also wrote the screenplay
• Has also worked extensively as a playback singer, singing in over 60 songs
• In 2011 he released the single "Love Anthem For World Peace and Love" to promote world peace, which contains lyrics in 96 languages
