Diane Lane Will Explore a World Without Men in FX's Y: The Last Man Adaptation

The acclaimed comic series gets an official series order

FX is bringing you a world without men in the upcoming series Y. The network revealed Monday that it has ordered to series an adaptation of the acclaimed DC Comics series Y: The Last Man from Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra.

The series centers on a post-apocalyptic world in which a catastrophic event has wiped out all the men except for one. In its wake, the surviving women have formed a new world order. According to the official description, the show will "explore gender, race, class and survival."

Diane Lane is set to lead the ensemble, which also includes Barry Keoghan, Imogen Poots, Lashana Lynch, Juliana Canfield, Marin Ireland and Amber Tamblyn. The show's behind-the-scenes talent is equally impressive. American Gods' Michael Green and Luke Cage's Aida Mashaka Croal will serve as showrunner. Plus, Melina Matsoukas, whose credits include Insecure, Master of None, Beyoncé: Formation, will direct the pilot and serve as an executive producer.

Y heads to FX sometime in the near future.
