Marvel's Cloak & Dagger Is Coming Back for a Second Season

Season 2 will arrive in Spring 2019

Cory Barker

Marvel's Cloak & Dagger hit two milestones on Friday: its first San Diego Comic-Con panel and a Season 2 renewal.

During the Freeform series' panel featuring the cast and crew it was announced that Cloak & Dagger will return for a 10-episode second season next spring.

Set in New Orleans, Cloak & Dagger follows Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph), teenagers from different backgrounds who acquire superpowers in the aftermath of a traumatic oil spill accident. As they develop a romantic relationship, Tandy and Tyrone discover that their powers manifest even stronger when they're together. Joe Pokaski and Jeph Loeb serve as executive producers.

Cloak & Dagger scored Freedom's highest series debut in more than two years, with 4.4 million viewers across all platforms (in Live+35 days of DVR viewing). Freeform is also touting the Marvel series as the number-one new cable drama in its key female demographics (12-34 and 18-34), and its highest-ever series premiere with male viewers 18-49.
