Lifetime Is Doing a Movie on the College Admissions Scandal, Obviously

Not keen to let some good melodrama go to waste, Lifetime is turning the recent college admissions scandal -- which made headlines thanks to the involvement of big names like Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin -- into a movie.

At the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Tuesday, A+E Networks president Rob Sharenow said College Admissions Scandal has been fast-tracked into production and should be out by fall 2019 -- which means the sure-to-be-extra movie about rich people cheating to get their kids in college should arrive just in time for back-to-school season. The shade of it all!

Of Course the College Admissions Scandal Will Become a TV Show

Not to be confused with the TV series on the same topic, College Admissions Scandal "will follow two wealthy mothers who share an obsession with getting their teenagers into the best possible college," according to a description. "When charismatic college admissions consultant Rick Singer offers a side door into the prestigious institutions of their dreams, they willingly partake with visions of coveted acceptance letters in their heads."

Lifetime announced other new projects at its TCA panel, including a four-hour follow up to Surviving R. Kellytitled Surviving R. Kelly: The Aftermath.

In addition, Lifetime will produce Surviving Jeffrey Epstein, a documentary following the New York financier who was recently arrested for his alleged predatory behavior to young girls.

A biopic about talk show host Wendy Williams is also in the works for a 2020 debut.
