Christie Brinkley will not compete in Season 28 of Dancing with the Stars. The actress has pulled out of ABC's reality dance competition due to injury, TV Guide has confirmed. Brinkley suffered a wrist injury during rehearsal that requires surgery, rendering her unable to compete. She will be replaced b her daughter Sailor Brinkley- Cook.

"While rehearsing for the premiere of Dancing with the Stars, Christie Brinkley suffered injuries which required surgery to her wrist and arm," ABC said in a statement. "She is unable to continue her planned participation on the show. Keeping it all in the family, her daughter Sailor Brinkley-Cook, a Sports Illustrated model, has chosen to quickly step in with hours to learn the entire routine and will compete in her mother's place for the remainder of the season. We wish Christie a full and speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her in the audience, whenever possible, proudly supporting Sailor."

Competitors for the upcoming season include James Van Der Beek, Ally Brooke, Karamo Brown, Lamar Odom, Kel Mitchell and Supremes founding member Mary Wilson.

Season 28 of Dancing with the Stars premieres Monday, Sept. 16 at 8/7c on ABC.
