FX really loves Atlanta. The network announced on Tuesday that it has ordered an eight-episode fourth season of the Donald Glover-created series.

"What more can be said about Atlanta than the critical acclaim and accolades that Donald [Glover], Paul [Simms], Dianne [McGunigle], Stephen [Glover], and Hiro [Murai] have earned for two exceptional seasons of what is clearly one of the best shows on television," said Eric Schrier, president of FX Entertainment, in a statement. "This group of collaborators and cast have created one of the most original, innovative stories of this generation and we are proud to be their partners."

But if you're thinking, "Hey wait, what happened to Season 3?" you're not alone. The news of Season 4 comes before production on Season 3, which will also be eight episodes and was ordered in June 2018, has even begun. Both seasons are currently scheduled to start production next spring, which means we likely won't see new episodes of Atlanta until at least the second half of 2020. This also means the show, a critical favorite, will be sitting out two Emmys cycles.

Atlanta's first two seasons are available to stream on Hulu.
