Armie Hammer Sparks Debate Over Whether It's Tacky to Post Tribute Photos With Stan Lee

Armie Hammer is once again stirring up controversy on social media, this time over the death of comic book legend Stan Lee. Well, actually he has a problem with how celebrities are remembering Lee rather than a problem with the icon himself.

"So touched by all of the celebrities posting pictures of themselves with Stan Lee... no better way to commemorate an absolute legend than putting up a picture of yourself," Hammer tweeted Monday night.

The hostile tweet calls out celebrities like Robert Downey Jr., Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Tom Holland and dozens more who posted tributes to Lee that also featured pictures of themselves with him after the news of his passing broke on Monday.

And so we have the internet's Great Debate of the Week: Is it trashy to post a picture with yourself and a celebrity who has just died for a remembrance post? Or is it OK if you had a genuine relationship with that person? For instance, the role of Iron Man contributed to Downey's career comeback. Many of the other actors in the MCU were also catapulted to superstardom for playing characters Lee co-created. Is it self-serving to post their pictures with Lee to show a relationship that changed their lives?

Is it also wrong for fans and people who only met Lee once or twice to post their photos as if they also had a similarly impactful relationship with the man? Or does Hammer just have a giant stick up his butt and people should be allowed to remember a departed hero however they want? They are just photos, after all.
