Fargo led the way with five nods, including for TV movie/miniseries, where it'll compete opposite True Detective, The Normal Heart, The Missing and Olive Kitteridge.
The Affair is up for three awards, including drama series against Downton Abbey,Game of ThronesThe Good Wife and House of Cards. Stars Dominic West andRuth Wilson are also nominated. West is up against three returning nominees — Liev Schreiber (Ray Donovan), Kevin Spacey (House of Cards) and James Spader (The Blacklist) — and fellow newbie Clive Owen (The Knick).
The best TV shows of 2014
Wilson will vie for drama actress honors against defending champ Robin Wright(House of Cards), Claire Danes (Homeland), Viola Davis (How to Get Away with Murder) and Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife).
In comedy, Jane the Virgin breakout Gina Rodriguez scored a nod, while the show is up for the series prize against GirlsOrange Is the New BlackSilicon Valley and Transparent.

In the film races, Boyhood, Foxcatcher,The Imitation Game,The Theory of Everything and Selma are up for drama picture. Birdman, The Grand Budapest HotelInto the Woods, Pride and St. Vincent will duke it out for the comedy/musical statuette.
The 72nd Golden Globe Awards airs Sunday, Jan. 11 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC.
