The Inspectors 2: A Shred of Evidence Reviews

Postal inspectors hunt for a dangerous thief who's stealing people's mail and using their identities to fraudulently acquire credit cards in this cable crime drama, the sequel to 1998's THE INSPECTORS. Frank Hughes (Louis Gossett Jr.) and Alex Urbina (Jonathan Silverman) investigate the crimes of identity thief Ed Furston, whose multiple personas come to light after he's killed. The hitch is that the real Ed Furston is still alive, and the dead "Ed Furston"'s bank account is still very much active. Hughes and Urbina realize the dead thief wasn't working alone, and their investigation is hampered by the fact that no-one knows the name of his elusive partner (Michael Madsen) — ahe ruthless con man kills one bank teller and comes close to killing another to cover his tracks — or even what he looks like. Unlike many sequels, which just trade on the popularity of the first film, this follow-up is a solid, well-acted thriller in its own right.
