Formby plays a handyman with a knack for handling the paint brush, a talent he pursues by painting portraits of heads minus the body because he lacks the boldness to have his models pose nude for him. In a commercial art class, fellow students add bodies to three of Formby's heads, forcing the painter into a mess with the models when the painting is used as a soap advertisement.
