In a village called Lidice, under the Nazi Regime during the Second World War, a man, Frantisek Sima, murders his own son after a drunken argument. During his imprisonment, Sima finds out that his family and the village of Lidice have become the scapegoats for a murder of SS-Obergruppenfuhrer Reinhard Heydrich and have been slaughtered.
