Radio stars Fibber McGee and Molly came to the screen in this RKO ripoff of Frank Capra's MR. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON. McGee is asked to come to Washington by his politician relative, and he tries to tell Congress what must be done for the country. McGee is laughed at until he is named Mr. Average Man by the Gallup Poll. The film did quite poorly at the box office.
