Flesh and Blood Reviews

A plodding melodrama telling three thinly connected stories, this film begins as a sick medical student dies in a Glasgow slum. His pregnant fiancee dies as well, leaving her brother to take care of the baby girl. The daughter grows up and has an affair with a lab assistant. When he threatens to ruin her wedding, she poisons him, and the wedding ceremony goes as planned. She has a son and then commits suicide because of her past crime. Her son goes on to discover a vaccine for a deadly disease. The cast handles the complexities of this rambling saga quite well.
