Holt is a rough-and-ready captain of an old wreck of a boat and must deliver it to port. He is thwarted by racketeers, who plant their henchmen in the crew in order to sink the boat and collect more insurance money than the tub is worth. The bad guys blow a hole in the hold of the boat and, with water rushing in, Holt goes down to stem the flow. His wife, a two-timing harlot, meanwhile makes a play for the second mate, who is also Holt's best friend. After saving the ship, Holt comes up on top to find his wife and best friend in an embrace. She claims the friend attacked her, and Holt promptly floors his friend. Later he discovers the truth about his wife's infidelity and makes up with his pal. When Holt finally brings the boat into port, he is rewarded with $10,000 from Lloyd's of London, and given a new commission.
