Taking advice from the Bible, an orphan (Virginia Weidler) flees to Egypt, N.Y., where she is befriended by a newspaper editor (Ian Hunter) and his wife (Lois Wilson). Gene Reynolds, Guy Kibbee. Red: Henry Hull. Directed by William Thiele.

Average waif-on-the-run-from-the-orphanage tale, starring Weidler as a ragamuffin whose faith in the Bible sees her through the rough spots. While on the lam she meets up with shoe-shine boy Reynolds, who befriends her and introduces her to Hunter, the local newspaper editor, who takes her home to the wife. Kibbee is good as the town's skinflint and Hull is interesting as Reynolds' alcoholic father.
