A sweet old lady makes it tough on hoods who buy the hotel where she lives. Spring Byington, Anthony Caruso. Slattery: Brett King. Angela: Tanis Chandler. Rogan: Robert Karnes. Directed by Jean Yarbrough.

Lightweight programmer has Byington as a retired schoolteacher put upon by a group of ostensibly reformed gangsters, led by Caruso, who buy her roominghouse and begin to summarily evict tenants. They are persuaded to allow the boarders to stay by Byington, who mellows the thugs, except for Karnes. He commits a robbery, forcing King to go with him, then hides the loot in the boarding-house. A mild tearjerker.
