It is 1966 and Black teenager Gary Duncan finds himself in the middle of a heated argument between Black and white teens in front of a newly integrated school. In the process of diffusing the tension, he gently lays his hand on a white boy, who then reacts disproportionately. That night, authorities arrest him for assault. A Crime In The Bayou is a documentary that follows the story of Duncan and his lawyer Richard Sobol as they fight against a legal system that is marred with racism.
